Re: HS Systems 321 West 45th Street

Dear Deputy Mayor Reiter,

I am writing to you to express my concern regarding HS Systems, 321 West 45th Street, an agency which has been under contract with the city for over four years to provide medical examinations to determine medical disability for unemployed persons.

In particular, HS Systems has never provided its clients with an indoor waiting room, and they are therefore forced to line up on the street, often in terrible weather. This has, in part, caused the sidewalk to be consistently dirty.

HS Systems has also never addressed the problems caused by its clients who drive to the facility, who often park illegally, repair their cars on the block, and play loud and disruptive music from their cars. All of these problems have contributed to the diminishing quality of life on the block.

HS Systems has completely disregarded the complaints of Community Board 4, the West 45th Street Block Association, and Council Member Tom Duane. I urge you to request that HS Systems contract be terminated unless they address these longstanding problems.

Sincerely

Ruth W. Messinger
